Well, hello there, West Country! Our Graphic Mill sales crew had an absolute blast dazzling attendees with our super cool interactive exhibition stand services right here on our home turf at Westpoint Exeter. What a show it was!
Why We Jumped In With Both Feet
As seasoned pros in crafting eye-popping exhibition stands, we figured, why not walk a mile in our customers’ snazzy exhibition shoes? By stepping into the exhibitor role ourselves, we got to experience the whole shebang – from tackling tricky logistics to remembering those all-important comfy shoes for a marathon day on the stand! Our mission? To pinpoint exactly where we could sprinkle some extra magic and make our clients’ exhibition journey even smoother.
Designing the Ultimate Interactive Exhibition Stand: Brand Meets Buzz
We poured our hearts (and a whole lot of creative juice) into designing our very own stand, making sure it perfectly captured the fresh vibe of our new Graphic Mill brand in the real world. Just like many of our clients, our brand had been living a digital life. Bringing it to life in a tangible space was both a meticulous and exciting adventure!
We went bold with our signature black and white, amped up with flashes of electric blue and our brand-new LED trim that literally lit up the room.
Front and centre stood our iconic Graphic Mill logo, flanked by our promise: Building Better Exhibition Stands. With clever split-flooring in Pantone-matched blue vinyl, a glowing canopy, and cut-out LED shapes above, we created a stand that looked every bit as sharp as it performed. The design process was pure teamwork, with ideas flowing from sales and marketing right through to a final thumbs-up from our Managing Director, Dan.


What Made Our Interactive Stand a Hit
We pulled out all the stops to make sure visitors didn’t just stop by, they stuck around.
The Slingshot Game Extravaganza
This was a big hit with stand visitors! We whipped up a custom-branded slingshot game where visitors could launch beanbags to score points on a lively game board. It was a visual treat and, delightfully, quite loud when enthusiastic players delivered a satisfying hit! Offering a prize for the top score added a fun competitive element, encouraging people to return and providing the perfect ice-breaker for chats with our team.
Mind-Blowing Interactive Tech
We didn’t just want to show off projects on a screen; we wanted to create a truly immersive and interactive exhibition stand experience. Visitors could pick up 3D-printed miniature stand models, pop them onto a podium, and watch as information and photos about that specific stand magically appeared! This clever wizardry used RFID cards embedded in the models, with the software brewed entirely in-house. Separately, a “floating” Android tablet served as both a timer and leaderrboard for the slingshot game, while also showcasing our portfolio as a PDF. The timer software, also home-grown, even included lead capture for visitor emails, perfect for staying in touch after the show!
Thoughtful Giveaways
Let’s be honest, freebies still draw a crowd. Our Lego prize added just the right level of excitement, and while we skipped heavy brochures, we had plenty of cards and a few future giveaway ideas (one for the coffee lovers?) brewing in the background.
On-Brand Dress Code
Our team certainly looked the part, rocking a sleek, monochrome smart-casual dress code. This wasn’t just a random fashion statement; it was a deliberate choice to ensure we looked both polished and super approachable, perfectly aligning with the friendly-yet-professional vibe of Graphic Mill. We wanted our crew to be easily spotted and even easier to chat with, making every visitor feel right at home on our stand. It helped us project an image that said, “We’re serious about great exhibition stands, but we’re also a blast to work with!”
All Built In-House, All Built with Passion
Just like most of our exhibition stand projects, our own stand was crafted using the versatile modular Aluvision framework system. We’re pretty chuffed to have a significant stock of these frames, which are fantastic for sustainable exhibiting. All our graphics were printed right here in-house on our 3m wide fabric printer, precisely cut on our Blackman & White digital cutter, and expertly stitched with our dedicated industrial sewing machine. Talk about a full-service creative hub!
The Power of the Pre-build: No Surprises Here
We’re big believers in the pre-build, and our own stand was no exception. Our installation team meticulously constructs the stand exactly as it will appear on-site in our dedicated pre-build space. This lets us thoroughly test all AV and interactive exhibition stand elements before the big day. For instance, during our pre-build, we discovered our interactive software ran much smoother in HD resolution rather than 4K, ensuring a stellar user experience. Pre-building is priceless for catching and squashing any issues early on!
Building Brilliance: A Seamless Set-Up
Arriving bright and early the day before the West Country Business Show, our installation team (with some keen sales team members lending a hand!) kicked off the stand build. Everything ran like clockwork, from laying the raised flooring and constructing the stand’s sturdy structure to perfectly cladding it with vibrant graphics and all our cutting-edge AV. Having the sales team pitch in wasn’t just about extra muscle; it was a fantastic way for them to truly grasp the dynamics and pressures of an exhibition stand installation, especially when hitting those crucial deadlines. After a productive day, the team enjoyed a well-deserved rest overnight, ready to dive back into the excitement the following morning!

Our interactive exhibition stand was a roaring success at the West Country Business Show, truly standing head and shoulders above the rest. We received a ton of compliments on its design and impact, and the entire team had a blast connecting with other businesses and chatting about our services. By navigating the whole exhibition process ourselves, we’ve gained invaluable insights that will undoubtedly help us sprinkle even more magic on our customers’ experiences.
